Provence

On this tour, carefully designed by the France expert TRS Group, you will pleasantly and comfortably visit the cities of MarseilleAix-en-Provence, Avignon, Nîmes, and Arles, and the mountain villages and the lavender fields in the Provence region.

Day 1: Istanbul – Marseille – Aix-en-Provence

After our flight from Istanbul to Marseille, we will be picked up by our professional guide at the Marseille airport and take our transfer to Aix-en-Provence. We will take a sightseeing tour in the medieval city of Aix-en-Provence, famous for its lovely narrow streets and farmers’ markets, where the famous painter Cézanne lived. After our city tour, we will take a trip to the famous lavender fields and medieval towns in the Lubéron region with those guests who would like to join us. We will explore the natural and historical beauties of the Provence region, and then we will return to Aix-en-Provence. Overnight in Aix-en-Provence.

Day 2: Avignon – Nîmes

We will check out after breakfast and set out to Avignon. Once the capital of the Catholic Church, we will visit the bridge in the city of Avignon, which is mentioned in many songs, and the Papal Palace, and we will then leave the city of Avignon. After seeing the Roman aqueduct bridge (the Pont du Gard) we will arrive at the city of Nîmes. We will stay overnight in Nîmes.

Day 3: Nîmes – Arles

We will go on a city sightseeing tour in the city of Nîmes which will also include the amphitheatre, favored as a concert site by the most famous artists of the world. We will explore the historical texture of the city of Nîmes, which dates back to the Roman period.

With those guests who would like to join us, we will then visit the 2000-year-old city of Arles, where Vincent Van Gogh stayed for 15 months and which was a source of inspiration for some of  his best known paintings. Overnight in Nîmes.

Day 4: Marseille

Check out after breakfast and set out to Marseille. We will have a city sightseeing tour that will include the old port of the city Marseille, established by the sailors from Foça during the 6th century BC, the old neighborhood called “Panier” (basket), and the Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde. After our city tour, we will check in at our hotel and stay overnight in Marseille.

Day 5: Marseille – Istanbul

After some free time, we will take our transfer to the airport and return to Istanbul on our scheduled flight.
