Amsterdam loves summer music festivals and they don’t come much bigger than the annual Loveland Festival, which takes place at the Sloterpark in the Nieuw-West district of the city each August.
Dance music and the Netherlands go together like rock ‘n’ roll. Come summer, Amsterdam buzzes with the thud of dance music festivals and parties. Held in the beautiful surroundings of Sloterpark on a peninsula jutting out into the Sloterplas (lake), Amsterdam’s Loveland Festival traditionally features six main stages hosting dozens of international stars and the freshest names from the local scene.
Expect amazing production and elaborate staging, graffiti artists, delicious food and of course the unexpected. The Relax Island and Art Island complete the Loveland grounds, offering festival-goers the chance to take it easy away from the beats.

Sure, you can expect decent crowds around the stages but Voltt Loves Summer also places an emphasis on the finer things in life. Each year, the Mysteryland dance festival transforms a patch of land 20 kilometres from Amsterdam into a magical place with fairytale surroundings, themed stages, open fields and intimate spaces.
Festival for dance, art and theatre
One of the highlights of Amsterdam’s dance festival agenda, Mysteryland strikes down with a broad line-up of creative events alongside the annual explosion of varied electronic musical styles ranging from cutting-edge dubstep, hip-hop and disco to top international names in house, techno and electro. The festival programme also traditionally includes exhibitions by small-scale artistic collectives, theatre makers, spoken-word artists and what is claimed to be the ‘smallest cinema of the world’, aiming to send its visitors on a journey of discovery.
Tradition and innovation
Having run for more than two decades, Mysteryland is one of the world’s oldest dance festivals. However, it doesn’t rest on its laurels, constantly on the look-out for innovation and new inspiration. The festival has also begun travelling the world, making stops in the US and in Peru.
