Each year, the Mysteryland dance festival transforms a patch of land 20 kilometres from Amsterdam into a magical place with fairytale surroundings, themed stages, open fields and intimate spaces.
Festival for dance, art and theatre
One of the highlights of Amsterdam’s dance festival agenda, Mysteryland strikes down with a broad line-up of creative events alongside the annual explosion of varied electronic musical styles ranging from cutting-edge dubstep, hip-hop and disco to top international names in house, techno and electro. The festival programme also traditionally includes exhibitions by small-scale artistic collectives, theatre makers, spoken-word artists and what is claimed to be the ‘smallest cinema of the world’, aiming to send its visitors on a journey of discovery.
Tradition and innovation
Having run for more than two decades, Mysteryland is one of the world’s oldest dance festivals. However, it doesn’t rest on its laurels, constantly on the look-out for innovation and new inspiration. The festival has also begun travelling the world, making stops in the US and in Peru.
